Identify products to investigate on a channel
A product available in your catalogue is not necessarily offered on every channel. Before expanding a range, you need to identify missing offers and understand whether a matching product page already exists on the marketplace.
We bring these questions together in the catalogue coverage matrix. It builds on PIM, offers and stock to support commercial development decisions.
What changes in daily work
- Identify gaps between your PIM and channel offers.
- Focus on in-stock products worth reviewing.
- Distinguish catalogue presence, absence and uncertain information.

Compare products and channels in a matrix
Filter by brand, category, tag, warehouse, availability or product state. Coverage and active, inactive or missing offers identify the scope to review.
Check before treating a gap as an opportunity
Catalogue checking requires a valid GTIN and supported channel. Results distinguish found, not found, ambiguous and failed checks. Missing information remains labelled as such, and results retain a check date.
API: connect the analysis to existing identities
GET /api/pim/products/by-external-id/{externalId} lets a source retrieve its product and applied representation. GET /api/oms/offers reads offers recorded in the account.
These reads provide business objects to your tools; they are neither a publication API nor proof of presence in every marketplace catalogue. The matrix and its catalogue check have a specific scope, separate from the read APIs described in the CIAMA documentation.
Prepare a marketplace range expansion
A marketplace manager wants to expand a brand’s presence on a channel. She selects in-stock products and identifies references without offers in the matrix. Building on the review of existing offers, this highlights products to investigate next.
For a reference with a valid GTIN, she runs a catalogue check on a supported channel. A product found allows preparation around an existing listing; an ambiguous result calls for a closer match review. Unknown results or errors remain checks to revisit.
She now has a set of decisions to work through with her team. The check establishes catalogue status; creating the offer and gaining marketplace acceptance remain separate steps.
This edition looks back at CIAMA’s evolution. The month is an editorial milestone in the product story, not a production deployment date.
